This Israeli Life is a documentary series that gives you a front-row seat to the lives of some of the most interesting people in Israel!
The second episode features Jonathan Matthews, the Head of Photo Archives at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, in Jerusalem.
Matthews is also a licensed Yad Vashem tour guide, and leads tours of the museum complex and various monuments and memorial sites on the Mount of Remembrance, including for a variety of heads of state and diplomats, such as then-Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
Yad Vashem was established by the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) in 1953. As the world’s largest and preeminent Holocaust institution, Yad Vashem maintains the most extensive archive and collections of Holocaust-era artifacts, documentation, and artworks worldwide, which serve as the foundation for its activities, both on the Mount of Remembrance in Jerusalem and online.
